My son Jonathan described this as a "Hemingway..esque.." trip

landing takeoff ankorageArriving after 8 hours on a 747, then looking at the turbo prop to take us to Dillingham, north of Aluetions, some 500 miles away.



Ankorage But first an evening at the Captain Cook with a view... of a frontier town and the frontier



dinner in Ankorage dinner with the boys before the weeks ops



great alaskan air view and on up via turbo prop over mountains and glaciers to Dillingham



the great dillingham airport and so into Dillingham airport... large enough for a small jet, the last of the major landing fields



transfering luggage luggage transfer via a "dumpster" into a truck, we vanned it 45 minutes north on dirt roads, then 45 minutes further north in jet boats



over water here are the jet boats and planes for the next part of the ride.
